Touring around Singapore on Saturday 8 January 2022

This post would be the first ever trip around the island on the year 2022.

Saturday, 8 January 2022

Since I was not working on this day, I take my opportunity to go out, prolly to have lunch and early dinner, I guess. I embark on my journey at Ang Mo Kio, taking the train down towards City Hall. The train was the series of 1996 extension from Yishun to Woodlands to Choa Chu Kang.

As I mention earlier, these top & down pictures are the evidence of an old train, more than 25 years on service.
Since I go to City Hall, it's none other than to recce the restaurant that my friend really want me to eat. The restaurant is known as est 1819, by Chef Andre, more details on another blog entry.
Nice & majestic view beneath the Singapore River.
The restaurant share the same location with Farah Diana steamboat.
Famous for the Western fusion kind of meal.
Also available for house mojito & desserts.
From this place, I walk towards Telok Ayer, and stop over for lunch at Pagi Sore restaurant.
Ayam Bali with rice wrapped on a banana leaf triangularly. Like that S$12.
Then, I wanted to go Tiong Bahru for another cuisine, only to be disappointed by the stall closure. Hence, I go nearby, to eat lunch for a second time.
Chicken rice from OK Chicken rice stall at Havelock Road near Beo Crescent.
And there's Pullman Bakery Tiong Bahru confectionary as well.
Next series of photos is where I really travel towards the east, then to the west.
This is where Pulau Saigon exists here smack in the middle of Singapore River, the bridge here is the only artefact that remains till today.
Thaipusam, a holiday that was removed as a national public holiday since 1968, it's time by 2023 to re-instate back this, as a national public holiday.
Express 506 from Serangoon, entering to Pan-Island Expressway via Jalan Toa Payoh.
Top & bottom pictures here are the new 3-door bus model of Service SBS Transit 23 towards Tampines.

Top & next two bottom pictures are the Bartley viaduct having a massive jam entering Bartley Road, via SBS Transit 129 from Tampines Concourse.

After these pictures, I ended up eating early dinner at Bukit Batok West before complete my day back home.
